Open Infrastructure isn’t new — OpenStack started ten years ago and rapidly became the Open Infrastructure-as-a-Service standard. What’s new are the demands for workloads like AI & ML requiring support for new chip architectures, automation at scale down to the bare metal, integration with many other open source components, all while stretching “cloud” to the EDGE for 5G and IoT. Intelligent Open Infrastructure – the integration of open source components that are evolving to meet these demands – creates an infrastructure that is monitoring itself, replicating itself, and delivering a versatile set of use cases.
